Thousands of acres of grazing land and winter hay stores across Okanogan County were wiped out in hours by the wildfire. While these animals were evacuated safely from the flames, we are now facing a secondary crisis: a total lack of feed.
Our valley urgently needs 170+ tons of hay to sustain displaced livestock through the coming months. We recently experienced a major heartbreak when an expected hay shipment fell through, making immediate local support even more critical.
We have formally applied for emergency relief grants through Fleet of Angels and Best Friends Animal Society, and we are currently waiting for official word. But while government and national processes work through their administrative pipelines, these animals need to eat today.
