Headline: Welcome to Year 6: Heartbreak, Hope, and Seven New Intakes

Sunday, October 18, 2026

As we step into our sixth year of operation at Fur Ever Yours Animal Rescue, the reality of rescue work in Okanogan County remains as delicate as it is urgent. With sub-freezing temperatures settling across the valley, our doors are open to those needing immediate shelter, decompression, and life-saving care.

In Memory of a Little Soul & BB’s Path to Recovery

Recently, we opened our arms to BB and two tiny puppies pulled from harsh, outdoor conditions. While BB has settled into foster care—enjoying warm fleece bedding, steady meals, and gentle hands—our hearts broke this week when one of her puppies passed away despite intensive supportive efforts. Fading puppy syndrome and severe cold exposure take a heavy toll on fragile young bodies.

We mourn the little life we could not save, even as we pour every resource into protecting BB and her surviving pup as they decompress, gain strength, and receive their full intake medical care.

Welcoming Four New Small-Dog Intakes

Joining BB and her puppy are four newly arrived small-dog rescues bringing our latest intake count to six:

  • Brian: A gentle soul learning that human touch brings warmth and safety instead of fear.

  • Boy: Resilient and alert, currently completing his intake deworming and parasite treatments.

  • Scruffy: A sweet, scruffy-coated small mix undergoing social decompression in a heated foster space.

  • Gladys: A darling girl receiving core vaccinations, health checks, and high-calorie nourishment.

How You Can Help Fuel Their Care - Donate

Each new arrival requires immediate medical intake, high-quality nutrition, vaccinations, and behavioral rehabilitation to prepare them for forever homes.

  • $6 covers intake deworming and topical flea treatment for a small dog.

  • $66 funds a complete medical intake kit (vaccines, health check, and microchip).

  • $166 covers full spay/neuter surgery and post-op recovery care.
