Created to honor two legends who ruled Buckhorn Mountain of Okanogan County for 12 years. Hans, our faithful GSP mix and sanctuary mascot, and Duchess, his scruffy, athletic and smart companion, were both shelter rescues (Wenatchee Valley Humane and NOAH) who proved that an old dog provides a lifetime of devotion. Though we lost them just five months apart, both lived to the golden age of 14. Their spirit continues through this fund, which is dedicated specifically to the "Goldens" in our care who need a little extra magic in their sunset years.
