About Us

Our Mission

Empowering communities to nurture lifelong bonds between people and their animal companions, our nonprofit is dedicated to fostering compassion, understanding, and support. Through rehoming services for dogs, cats, and horses, and by extending a helping hand to pet owners facing challenges, we strive to create a world where every pet has a loving home and every family can thrive together.

June 26, 2024
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our founder and president, Bill Mercado, who passed due to complications from surgery. Bill was a father, a grandfather, a kuya, a friend and an animal lover. His proud Irish American and Filipino heritage, coupled with his profound Catholic beliefs, shaped the compassionate and unselfish way he led our nonprofit.
Bill was involved in the day-to-day operations, fiscal management, and strategic planning of our organization. The board will follow sustainability and transition plans, ensuring the growth and lasting impact of our nonprofit.
On a personal note, in his golden years, Bill enjoyed Lady Gaga’s music coupled with his early love for AndrĂ©s Segovia. Bill was a flirtatious Cha Cha and Boogie Woogie dancer.
Please allow us some time as we pause our operations to honor Bill’s passing. We do take comfort in knowing Bill is greeted by wet noses, wagging tails, and ear-piercing neighs by his beloved Thoroughbred mare.

To honor his legacy and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you foster or adopt an animal in need, volunteer, or donate to an animal rescue near you.
May you find peace and comfort, Bill. We shall continue your vision. Your legacy will live on through every animal saved and every life touched by Fur Ever Yours Animal Rescue.
