UPDATE: Maya has new furry siblings, a human granny and mom.

Breed: Miniature Poodle/Jack Russell Terrier Mix

Age: 2 Years 6 Months (DOB: 12/23/2022)

Gender: Female (Spayed)

Weight: 20 lbs (could lose a few pounds)

Background: Maya was found as a stray with a microchip. Her original owner gave her to a friend, who didn’t respond to our WA partner shelter, so she’s now with us. This friendly girl knows basic commands, loves sniffing out adventures, and pulls on the leash with excitement. She’s dog-friendly with all sizes and genders!

Personality: Super friendly and energetic, Maya brings joy to every playdate. She’ll need grooming, skill-building, and a plan to help her slim down.

Care Needs: Spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, Maya is ready for adoption. Her new family should commit to her curly coat care and a healthy lifestyle.

Kelso - Seeking a Dedicated Handler

Breed: Sheepadoodle

Age: Approx. 2 plus years (DOB: April 2023)

Weight: 53.5 lbs

Kelso, an approximately 1-year-4-month-old male Sheepadoodle, has had a challenging start that has shaped his journey to find the perfect forever home. Born around March 2024, he was first surrendered to a Los Angeles shelter as a puppy on March 24, 2024. Sadly, he faced another surrender on February 25, 2025, during the intense Pasadena fires, adding to his early uncertainties. A compassionate young woman took him in as a foster, showering him with love, but her demanding work schedule made it difficult to provide the structure he needed.

Now, Kelso is in Fur Ever Yours Dog Rescue's care. He is making remarkable progress in a "boot camp style" board and train program, where he has truly blossomed. He has been successfully groomed, showing his ability to adapt with the right guidance, and he enjoys the company of other dogs. However, he can be cautious around strangers, especially when they approach his paws as evident in a recent vet visit where he was muzzled for safety. Kelso responded well with his trainer's support.

Kelso has had successful outings in public and loves the Farmer's Market in the Methow Valley. Kelso loves other dogs and he tends to match the energy of others during playdates.

Born to a Lab mix mom (dad’s a mystery!), we estimate they’ll grow to be around 60 to 65 pounds when full-grown. Like typical Lab mixes, they’re active, affectionate, and intelligent, making them the perfect companions for families who enjoy outdoor adventures and playtime! Whether it’s fetch, hikes, or snuggling on the couch, these pups are eager to share their love.

- As of 4/2/25, they’ve received 2 rounds of vaccines and are considered under-vaccinated.
- Each puppy has been dewormed and microchipped.

We’re looking for families with fenced yards, though we’ll also consider breed-savvy and active homes. These pups will be traveling to the Seattle area soon, ready to meet you and start their new lives!
